What are some of the life events where Resilience can benefit you most? Any kind of unexpected changes or challenges in life require a resilient outlook and approach. In our last article, we explored the personal characteristics of resilience (Don't Be Scared, Be Resilient), and in this installment, we’re going to explore some of the life moments when Resilience can benefit you most. Armed with this knowledge, you can be on the look out for those moments when you can step back and ask yourself, "what would my resilient self do???"

1. Starting a New Business: Entrepreneurship can sometimes involve disappointments. Resilience helps you push through challenges, pivot, and keep working toward success, focus on what you've learned from the experience and how to forge ahead with your vision for what your business can be.

2. Overcoming Rejection: Whether in relationships, jobs, or creative pursuits, resilience helps you accept rejection without letting it define your self-worth.

3. Handling Financial Difficulties: When financial stress arises, resilience helps you adapt, budget, and create solutions without becoming overwhelmed.

4. Coping with Failure: When a project or goal doesn't go they way you'd envisioned, resilience allows you to learn from the experience, adjust your approach, and try again.

5. Navigating Change: Major life changes, like moving to a new city, switching careers, or adjusting to new circumstances, are easier with resilience, which keeps you adaptable and open to growth.

6. Dealing with Conflict: In personal or professional relationships, resilience allows you to address conflict constructively, seek resolution, and maintain emotional health. Stepping back from the two sides and being curious about why and how the other person feels can help you accept their position or explore resolution.

There are so many ways we can strengthen our resilience muscle - any time you're feeling daunted by something new, challenging or even unpleasant, take a step back and ask yourself: "how can I use resilience to move through this and get to the other side." Get curious, ask lots of questions and seek a constructive path. You'll be stronger for it, guaranteed!
